~ ensuring the perfect fit ~
Our Team
All sewing alterations require a keen eye - and while bridal is often more intricate - the eye remains the most important piece of the puzzle. Being able to see where lines need to go, where you can accentuate or smooth curves, and how to make clothes fit a body perfectly is something our team takes enormous pride in.
Julie is a wife, mother and grandmother who took what she loved doing and made it work as a profitable and rewarding business venture. She is the founder of Tadney’s Design Studio and became incorporated in 2006 under the name JMI Design Studio Inc.

In addition to heading up the clothing manufacturing for companies like The Original Bug Shirt Company and Aum Goddess, Julie's specialty is custom bridal work including one of a kind, gorgeous wedding gowns and dresses for the entire wedding party.
Julie's daughter Marlena heads up the manufacturing floor as lead sewing manufacturing specialist. Along with the rest of the team, Marlena is a leader and supervisor for production of clothing for The Original Bug Shirt Company, and Aum Goddess.

Marlena's critical eye is an asset for quality control, and she is often brought in to aid with bridal and alterations, as well as custom gowns. Marlena's creativity is unmatched as proven by her Christmas gown: a dress made of pine bows.
Christine is a very gifted bridal seamstress, whose attention to detail is evident in every piece of fabric and lace she touches. Christine will alter every piece of your clothing to a perfect fit.

Christine began sewing at age 11 when she made her first garment - a house coat. She took sewing classes all through highschool and a surger course at Creation Unique.

Christine spent years industrial sewing, all the while altering and creating her own clothing at home. She has also engaged in seamstress duties in the film industry, and has a specific eye for intricate beading and lace - especially in relation to bridal wear.

With Stacey in the office, life runs smoothly at JMI. Stacey is the friendly voice on the phone, and the girl cracking the whip when large orders come in. She is the first face you see when you come in the door for your fitting, and is always willing to offer an honest, critical opinion any time it is requested.

Stacey's business background makes her a leader in customer service, and a true asset on the JMI team.

JMI couldn't run without the entire team working cohesively together behind the scenes. This team of women have taken their incredible skills and fine tuned them so well that the company is now a leading clothing manufacturer as well as specialty bridal and alterations experts. When you think of quality sewing, what instantly comes to mind is this group of women who every day do such an amazing job that words cannot express how truly fantastic they really are.
